For some going to Disney isn't about the food. It's more about experiencing the park and it's magic. It was like that for my family until we went so much that there was little left that we hadn't fully experienced. The last couple of times my family has gone to Disney we've tried to focus more on the dining as a way to enhance our already magical trip. If your family is a one and done Disney goer than it might be important to think about your dining options. Or - even if you are like my family and want to try new things this post might help you. Of course these are MY opinion. No one is incorrect on what their favorite dining restaurants are. Use this post as part of your research - NOT to make final decisions off of. For purposes of comparison I am not someone who counts calories or watches their weight. I do eat fairly healthy and more often than not, do not utilize the Disney Dining Plan. The Disney Dining Plan ExplainedToday's vacation planning blog post comes in the form of a video. So, a vlog? Anyway... I was very surprised to see that so many of you were curious about the Disney Dining Plan. In the video I talk about what it is, what each plan offers, and if I think it is worth it... 1. California GrillThis dining experience is one you should save for a special occasion. It is quite expensive, but has a great view of the Magic Kingdom at night. It's located at the Contemporary which makes it a short walk from the park. It has a simultaneously modern and retro look which is so cool and hip but also classy and timeless. If you want a great view of the castle request a window seat before hand if at all possible. I would even wait a little bit for a window seat. If you're going to be paying a lot why not get the most enhanced experience. The menu includes lots of seafood and yummy sushi. So, if you're more into the food request to sit at the sushi bar!! There are also some other non-seafood items as well. Their wine list is also VERY impressive! If you're looking for a nice meal for adults go here!!!!! Don't bring kids though. Kids wont eat much of the expensive food. Its a truly romantic and incredible place to dine. For the Dining Plan it does "cost" 2 table service credits, but this is because it's a signature dining experience. Click the button below to see the menu. 2. Kona CafeOne, this restaurant is located at my DVC (Disney Vacation Club) home resort so, you KNOW I love Kona Cafe! Being right next to the famous Ohana, Kona Cafe is a hidden gem. Hidden in plain sight... All of the food here has a Polynesian touch which I love. All of the food is beautifully presented almost like a fine dining experience. The portions aren't huge which is nice for me! It is also fairly easy to get reservations at. So, if you can't obtain Ohana for some reason. Kona Cafe is a greeaattt replacement! It's also fairly affordable for those on the Dining Plan! Click button below to see the menu 3. OhanaThis one is also located at the Poly! Ohana serves a family style meal and it's one the most raved about places on property. Ohana has meat skewers, stir-fryed veggies, and low mein style food. It participates in the Dining Plan and actually has good value. You can also get characters at this meal, but the restaurant focuses mostly on the food. It's location is close to Magic Kingdom and has a great islander ambiance! It's very very festive. If you're looking for a calm quiet meal this place isn't it. It is a relaxed place though! You don't need to dress up to dine here! Click below to view the Ohana menu 4. Le Cellier SteakhouseI'm just gonna say it, I love Le Cellier for one reason mostly. The mushroom risotto!! Ha ha! I'm kidding I enjoy this restaurant for more than just that reason, but thats a big reason why!! This is - yet again - one of the most famous restaurants in Disney located in Epcot's Canada Pavilion. If you're utilizing the Dining Plan this restaurant costs 2 table service credits. Whether it's worth that is up to you. In my opinion... it's not. But! I still love it here! The theming definitely works. You do feel as if you're in a steak house in Canada. It also doesn't over do that woodsy feel which I appreciate. If you're a major carnivore looking for a nice steak... here you go. This is also a beer lovers paradise! While California Grill has an impressive set of wines, Le Cellier has an impressive set of beers! I loved getting the poutine and pretzel bread as appetizers! Pretzel bread is truly... the best. Click below to see the menu. 5. SanaaNow I know I said a lot of these were restaurants that people rave about but, this one is widely known as the best restaurant on Disney property!!! Which is funny to me because it's secluded in the already secluded Animal Kingdom Lodge. The items on the menu range in price so can be a good option for any Disney Dining Plan users! Some of the exotic food items can scare people away, but don't be afraid to try something new! It has an African palette, so some of the items may not sound too appealing. I've heard that even the weirdest items are incredible! The theming of this resort is also already beautiful, and there is no loss of beauty within this restaurant! Click below to view this menu! 7. Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria Via Napoli is located in Epcot's Italy Pavilion. It's a newer restaurant and it's one of my favorites!! (I mean I like all of these) It's not just your average pizza, so don't be fooled!! This restaurant doesn't have good value on the Dining Plan so, I would advise paying out of pocket. It's also not too difficult to get a reservation but, you need one. It can get quite busy for walk ups! I love the open air cooking and watching the chefs make the pizzas! The large pizzas cost around $35 so very very expensive for one person. But! If you're going to feed 4-6 people with that it is a pretty good deal!! The appetizers include fried calamari yum! The famous thing about Via Napoli is the extensive way they go about making every aspect just like Naples, Italy. Via Napoli uses water nearly identical in chemical composition to the water of Naples. This in turn makes the best dough! Their ovens vary in hot spots to add to cooking of the pizza. Click below to view the menu. Needless to say, there are many may great options to dine at in Disney. These are some of the ones I recommend. What do you think? Did I miss any? Let me know in the comments below! Have a magic day!! My favorite snacks to get in the parks! Everyone on here is obsessed with food!! It's ok though, me too! I loveeee snacks! I am constantly eating so I am pretty sure I know which snacks are the bomb.com!
Here are some of my favorite things to snack on inside the parks! (in no particular order)
